The Anville SERIES 400 is a personal-computer based data acquisition and control system enabling low-cost microcomputers to be used for scientific and industrial data logging and control.
The modular design of the SERIES 400 makes
it easy to configure to your current requirements, knowing that further modules can be
added to suit any future applications.
A large range of input modules is available providing total signal conditioning and isolation for thermocouples, platinum resistance sensors, thermistors, pressure transducers, load cells, strain gauges, current/voltage analog inputs and digital and frequency inputs. The internal microprocessor in the system converts these signals into engineering units for serial communication to the host computer. Modules for analog and digital/relay outputs allow the SERIES 400 system to control external parameters, enabling complete logging and control to be performed using the system.
There are two analog to digital converters; the SER400/AD3 integrating module with high accuracy, high resolution, noise free, medium speed 16bit conversion; and the SER400/AD2 successive approximation module with high accuracy, high resolution, high speed 16-bit conversion. Most applications use the SER400/AD3 integrating converter because of its excellent noise rejection and signal isolation characteristics.
Apart from the SER400/MXS-1 multiplexer module (used with the high speed SER400/AD2 converter), all analog input modules have eight channels switched through individual reed relays.
Voltage and Current
Voltage and current measurement modules SER400/MXR-1 and SER400/MXR-2 each monitor eight inputs switched hrough three pole reed relays. The SER400/MXS-1 module monitors either 32 single-ended or 16 differential inputs switched through solid state multiplexers.Thermocouple
Thermocouple module SER400/MXR-3 monitors eight inputs with a high degree of accuracy over the complete operating range of the sensor. All inputs are connected through individual compensated thermocouple sockets, with internal wiring to the cold junction in the correct thermocouple material. Automatic cold junction compensation and software linearization (in the onboard computer) convert to degrees C or F.Platinum Temperature Sensor
Platinum resistance module SER400/MXR-4 monitors eight inputs with a very high degree of accuracy over the complete operating range of the sensor. Operator selection allows further increased accuracy with a reduction in the input range. Designed for four wire connection, SER400/MXR-4 provides constant current excitation for I 00 ohm sensors with software linearization to degrees C, F, or K.Thermistor Temperature Sensor
Thermistor module SER400/MXR-5 monitors eight inputs. Two types of thermistor with 5000 ohm or 2252 ohm element are monitored with software linearization to degrees C or F.Pressure Transducer
Pressure transducer module SER400/MXR-6 monitors eight transducers with full bridge four wire connection.Digital input module SER400/Dl monitors 16 opto-isolated CMOS digital channels with a 5v 1 OOMA dc supply provided for external device energization.
Frequency input module SER400/Fl monitors 2 opto-isolated pulse or frequency channels.
Digital output module SER400/DOC provides 16 opto-isolated CMOS digital channels.
Digital output modules SER400/DOR and SER400/DOS provide eight opto-isolated relay outputs through mains rated connectors.
Digital output modules SER400/DOD and SER400/DOL provide 16 relay outputs, with the SER400/DOL relays being "latched" when power fails.
Analog output module SER400/AO provides four opto-isolated voltage or current output channels.
Up to 16 separate SERIES 400 systems can be linked on a single RS422 network.
